Peter Zolin Sr.

Peter Zolin Sr., age 86, of Houghton Lake passed away on Monday July 29, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Peter was born on November 19, 1932 in Weirton, West Virginia to Guiseppe and Pasqua (Mogno) Zolin. Peter was raised in the Detroit area. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Peter was married on June 13, 1959 in Detroit to Janet Graybill. The couple moved to Houghton Lake five years ago from the Upper Peninsula. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and was an avid fisherman. 

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Janet Zolin of Houghton Lake, son; Peter Zolin, Jr. of Madison Heights, daughters; Bernadette Spitale of Virginia, Rita Zolin of Prudenville and Maria (Lou) Tomma of Houghton Lake, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister; Clara. 

Mass of Christian Burial for Peter Zolin Sr. will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday August 2, 2019 from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Jim Doherty officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday August 2, 2019 from 9:00 am until the time of the service at the church.
