Richard Duane Brooks "Dick"

Richard Duane Brooks "Dick", age 73, of Houghton Lake passed away suddenly on Thursday June 14, 2018 at home.

Dick was born on December 3, 1944 in Standish, Michigan to Ellsworth and Dolores (Clayton) Brooks. He married Linda E. Segorski on June 26, 1965 in Flint. Dick retired from General Motors after 36 years where he had worked as an electrician. The couple moved to Houghton Lake 18 years ago from Davison after retirement. Dick was a member of the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church, the Houghton Lake Sportsman Club where he served as the Archery Director for 8 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Brooks of Houghton Lake, daughter; Lori (Gary) Greaves of Wichita, KS, brother; Daryl Brooks of Prescott, sister; Debora (Rick) Hughes of Flint, fishing buddy; John and grand puppy; Lucian Thor. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral Services for Richard D. Brooks will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday June 18, 2018 from Houghton Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. George Spencer officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday June 17, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home- Houghton Lake Chapel. Christler Funeral Home- Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
