Richard Moran Obituary

Richard J. Moran, age 92, of Roscommon passed into the arms of his Lord June 24, 2019 with his wife by his side. He was born February 24, 1927 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of C.H. and Minnie Clark Moran. He graduated from Osage, Iowa High School in 1944. He married his high school sweetheart (Lois K. Lorenz) January 14, 1945. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. 

He was a graduate of Iowa State University and Southern Illinois University. He spent his career with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources as a Wildlife Research Biologist retiring after 36 years of service. 

He is survived by his wife of 74 years (Lois K. Moran nee Lorenz). They were blessed with five children: Timothy J. Moran of Marshall, MI; Katherine M. Scott (Stewart) of Macomb, MI; Daniel P. Moran (Peggy) of Merritt, MI; David R. Moran (Carrie) of Marshall, MI; Rebekah J. Leedy (Jim) of Houghton Lake, MI; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Moran. 

Richard was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. There will be no visitation or service at this time. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
