Manton, Michigan - Richard E. Schwab, of Manton passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his home in Manton. He was 69.
Richard was born on March 27, 1949, in Plainwell, Michigan to Edwin and Rosemary (Hall) Schwab. He grew up in Wayland, Michigan and later relocated to Northern Michigan and the Manton area where he spent the last 11 plus years. Richard entered into marriage with the former Michaeline Long on October 11, 1967 in Wayland, Michigan. He spent his career working in lumber and at the sawmill for Housler Lumber until his retirement just this past December. He had a passion for cars and often spent time restoring classic, from tune up's to a fresh paint job. Richard made many the oldies come back to life with his artistic craftsmanship. Richard cherished the time he spent with his family, especially adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Michaeline Schwab of Manton; two children, Ann (Wayne) Carpenter of Manton and Amy (Keith) Musselman of Tennessee; his mother, Rosemary; grandchildren, Joe Carpenter, Emily Crowden, Holden Schwab, Erica Viola, Paul Smith; twin brother, Robert Schwab; brother, Larry Schwab; and brother, Tommy Schwab; sister, Debbie Schwab; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place at a later date.
