Robert "Bob" T. Johnson, age 86, of Prudenville passed away at home on Thursday October 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born on February 1, 1932 in Grand Rapids, Michigan adopted by Thomas and Greta (Burlingham) Johnson. Robert served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was married on December 5, 1957 in Tijuana, Mexico to Elizabeth Ann Andrews. Bob retired from General Motors where he worked as a supervisor. The couple moved from Waterford to Northern Michigan 30 years ago. He was a member of American Legion, Disabled American Vets and White Deer Golf Course. Bob was an avid golfer and hunter. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of almost 61 years Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson of Prudenville, two sons; David (Stephanie) Johnson of Columbus, GA., and Robert (Tammi Jo) Johnson Jr. of Florida, daughters; Debi Johnson of Harrison and Cathi (Nikki Richardson) Johnson of Stamping Ground, KY, Colleen and Sherry several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Kevin.
Per Bob's wishes cremation has taken place and Military Honors will be conducted at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly on Thursday May 30, 2019 at 2:30 pm. A 19th Hole Celebration of Life Service will take place at White Deer Country Club on Friday May 10, 2019 from 4 pm- 6 pm. Memorial contributions in memory of Bob are asked to be directed to Munson Hospice. Christler Funeral Home- Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
