Robert Lee Weatherby

Robert Lee Weatherby,  age 77 of Lake City passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018     at home.

Robert was born September 24, 1941 in Brooklyn, MI to Roland and Ila (Briggs) Weatherby.

He married Joan L. Root on February 18, 1995 in Lake City.

Robert was a heavy equipment operator; primarily bulldozing, and retired after 25 years of employment with Crawford Excavating and Tom Hicks Excavating, both in Alma .

He was a member of the Missaukee County Trail Blazers and enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycles, quad trail riding and hunting.

Robert is survived by his wife Joan and children Julie (Scott) Woods and Debbie (Randy) Pawson both of Alma and step children: Bob (Penny) Root, Craig Root, Dean (Sheryl) Root, Tony (Teresa) Root, Derek Root and Darcy Wyman all of Lake City.

His grandchildren include Morgan Woods, Jessica Pawson and Garrett Pawson and 14 step grandchildren and 27 step great grandchildren. 

He is also survived by two brothers Louie (Dorothy) Weatherby of Wellston, AZ and Richard (Vicki) Weatherby of Alma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Lake City United Methodist Church with Rev. Jean Smith officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 am at the church until the time of services.
