Rodney F. Schaft, age 67 of Houghton Lake lost his battle with cancer when he passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at his home.
Rodney was born August 12, 1951 in Ypsilanti to Lester and Phyllis (Lawrence) Schaft.
Rodney served as a police officer for the City of Detroit in the K-9 Unit and retired after 25 years.
He is survived by his wife Pamela and three children; Christopher (Becky) Schaft of Marysville, Jeffery Schaft of Chesterfield and Erin (Keith) Foley of Farwell along with five grandchildren; Danielle Foley, Alec Foley, Luke Schaft, Landon Schaft and Liam Schaft.
He is also survived by his two brothers; Terry (Jan) Schaft of St. Clair, Brad (Brenda) Schaft of Houghton Lake and his sister Debbie Morley of Harrison Township, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Larry Schaft.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
