Ruby Maxine Wilkerson

Manton - Ruby Maxine Wilkerson, lifelong resident of Manton, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. She was 93.

Ruby was born on May 14, 1925, in Grayling to Thomas and Zoe (Gibbons) Custer. She entered into marriage with Harry Dale Wilkerson on April 8, 1941 in Grand Rapids. 

Ruby loved passing the time quilting, being with family and spending time outdoors.  She was an avid hunter, who enjoyed many camping and hunting trips to Canada.

Ruby is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Judy (Kip) Cergnul of Manton; son, John Wilkerson of Fife Lake; close and very special companion, Melvin Johnston; four sisters; one brother; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family members, friends and neighbors. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; a daughter, Dorothy Deams; three sons, Tom, Mike, and Steve (Patricia) Wilkerson; and her parents.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Missaukee Conservation Club (Hunter Safety), PO Box 451, Lake City, MI 49651 or the Carl T. Johnson Youth Hunter Safety Program, 6087 East M-115, Cadillac, MI 49601.  

The family is being served by the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home.
