Shelia Emery Obituary

Lake City - Shelia Marie Emery, of Lake City passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. She was 59.

Shelia was born on August 9, 1959, in Pontiac, Michigan to Robert and Florence (Weider) Duncan. She was raised and attended school in the Oxford area, until a chance encounter with her brother's co-worker led to over 38 years of marriage with Joseph  Emery.  The couple relocated to Northern Michigan in 1988, where they raised their two children, Amanda and Aaron.

Shelia spent some timing working with the former Belle Oakes Assisted Living but the best job she ever had was being a grandmother. She enjoyed every opportunity to be with her children and grandchildren. Shelia created many memories with her family, most notably, the fun times they had during get-together's and cookouts.

Shelia is survived by her loving husband, Joe Emery of Lake City; her two children, Amanda (Larry) Austin of Manton, and Aaron (Tara) Emery also of Manton; her five beloved grandchildren, Darron, David, Colette, Jolie, and Bennett;  her parents, Robert and Florence Duncan of Gladwin; a brother, Rusty and sister, Belinda; as well as many other loving family members and friends. Shelia was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Duncan.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in the care of Joe Emery.

The family is being served by the Young-Holdship Funeral Home.
