On Sunday September 16, 2018, Shirley Ann Morford, loving wife and mother of six children, passed away at the age of 88.

Shirley was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1930 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Harry and Elva (Smith) Johnson. She worked at Hudson's department store for 18 years and also occasionally worked as a nurse's aid throughout her adult life. On September 13, 1948 she married Robert James Morford.  Shirley had a passion for gardening and loved roses. She also was dedicated to her church, Community of Christ, where she served as a Deacon.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, two children Marcella Jo and Robert James Jr., as well as her grandson Keith Emerson Willard. She is survived by her husband, Robert, four daughters, JoAnne (Richard) Severn, Phyllis Allen, Wanda (Carl) Vonderahe and Karen (John) Shotwell. Additionally, she is survived by nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, five brothers, Robert (Shirley) Johnson, David (Linda) Johnson, Richard (Margaret) Johnson, William (Faye) Johnson and Thomas (Jennifer) Johnson. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home at 403 S Pine Street, Lake City, Michigan with Pastor Brent Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 20 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at the Aetna Township Cemetery in Missaukee County.

Donations in lieu of flowers were requested by Shirley to be made to the Community of Christ Church, 16505 30th Avenue, Marion, Michigan 49665.
