Cedar Creek Township - Terry Joe Baldwin, resident of the Cadillac area, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home. He was only 52.

Terry was born on December 21, 1964, in Cadillac, to Merlin Boven and Rosetta Baldwin. He grew up in Cadillac and was a 1983 graduate of Cadillac High School.

Terry began a long military career with the National Guard before eventually serving with the United States Navy retiring after 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Veterans Post 110 in Cadillac. 

Terry enjoyed being outdoors especially spending time hunting and fishing.  He liked to cheer for the University of Michigan wolverines while watching football, as well as adding to his sports memorabilia collection.  Terry could often be found tinkering on small engines, fixing things around the house, or helping friends with their projects.  He will be remembered for his big heart and warm smile and as a loyal friend.

Terry is survived by a loving family; his father, Merlin Boven; one brother, Tom (Kelly) Baldwin of Jenison; a brother-in-law, Dan Larsen; nieces, Samantha, Shelby, Courtney, and Claire; his longtime girlfriend, Shannon Dore and her children, Piper, Tristan, and Logen;  as well as many other loving family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Jean Larsen in 2016 and his mother, Rosetta Marie Cowley in 2017.

Memorial services celebrating Terry's life will be held at the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 12:00 noon, with visitation one hour prior.  Officiating will be Jim Helmboldt.
