Terry L. Bird, 60, died September 24, 2019, at his Prudenville home, after battling COPD for several years.
A Celebration of Life service is planned from noon to 3 p.m. October 5 at The Northern Center, 7784 Stoneschool Rd., Houghton Lake. Interment will be at Denton Township Cemetery.
Born February 11, 1959, in Grayling, he was the son of Charles Bird and Dolores Thomas Branam. He married Melissa White November 25, 1988, in Seward, AK. Mr. Bird worked many different jobs over the years, including as part of the strike crew for the clean up of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, at the Spring Creek Correctional Facility, as a commercial fisherman in the Bering Sea and, most recently, for 15 years at Pine Knob Golf Course, Clarkston.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, catching snapping turtles, reading, playing horseshoes and spending time with his granddaughter. He was a member of the Houghton Lake Men’s Pool League for more than 40 years.
