Cadillac, Michigan - Troy Allen Gowell, of Manton passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital. He was 45.

Troy was born on August 15, 1972, in Hart, Michigan to Calvin and Barbara (Marchido) Gowell. He attended Shelby High School and then furthered his education at Ferris State University, where he proudly graduated with a degree in Pharmacy, Class of 1996. Troy played football while attending Ferris and started at outside linebacker where received several awards for his outstanding play and leadership. Troy was also a major contributor to those championship and undefeated seasons between 1992-1996. He applied his education to his work as a Pharmacist for Rite-Aid in Cadillac for the last 5 years. Troy entered into marriage with the former Sybrina Kuntz. He enjoyed spending time outdoors in the woods hunting and fishing. Troy cherished the time he spent with his family and he loved being involved in his kids activities. Troy was a mentor to numerous people and kids, many looked up to him. He always had an open-heart to help anyone and everyone.

Troy is survived by his wife, Sybrina Lynn Gowell of Manton; five children, Brooke Cunningham, Brittany Cunningham, Elijah Cunningham, Makayla Gowell and Kaleb Gowell; his parents, Calvin and Barbara Gowell of Shelby, Michigan; his parents-in-law, Galen and Sandra Kuntz of Midland, Texas; grandmother, Phyllis Gowell of Muskegon, Michigan; three brothers, Richard (Rhonda) Gowell of Muskegon, Michigan, Bret Gowell of Shelby, Michigan, and Aaron Gowell of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home in Cadillac. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior at St. Ann Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Janowski to preside.
