Walter Allen Sherwood, 83, of Houghton Lake passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2017. He was born on July 23, 1934 to Alva & Margaret Mae (Lancaster) Sherwood in McBride, Michigan. 

Walter graduated from Edmore High School in 1952 and went on to become a licensed electrician. He spent 40 years working for General Electric and Hitachi` Magnetics in Edmore retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, traveling, woodworking, gardening, watching wildlife and spending time with friends and family. Walter enjoyed meeting people and was loved by everyone he met. He married Leona Lawrence in December of 1974.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Leona, his daughters; Susan Pung, LuAnne (David) Cooper and Lori (Ron) Zordell, three grandson's; David and Lucas Cramton and Justin Pung, two great grandchildren; Tyler and Jenna Cramton, sister; Eva Bilello and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Terri Lyn Cramton and eleven brothers and sisters. 

Per Walter's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Services will be held at the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church on Saturday December 9, 2017 at 12 pm with a luncheon to follow at the church. The family will greet friends from 11 am until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church.
