Wayne Oliver Rose, 83, of Houghton Lake passed away on Sunday May 13, 2018 at The Lighthouse of Roscommon.
Wayne was born on November 24, 1934 in Mackinaw City, Michigan to George and Iva (Cassidy) Watling. He served as a Pfc(T) in the Army during the Korean War. Wayne worked for the City of Grayling Waste Water Treatment Plant, the Grayling Fish Hatchery and later Roscommon Industries. Wayne was married to Letha Joyce Tinker who preceded him in death. Wayne was later married to Barbara J. Elliot whom also preceded him in death. Wayne was a member of the American Legion and was an avid bingo player.
Surviving Mr. Rose are his son, Wayne Oliver Rose, Jr. of Houghton Lake; two brothers, Jim Rose of MO, and Raymond Rose of IA; several nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Colleen.
Private Family Graveside Services for Wayne Oliver Rose will be conducted at Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Wayne are asked to be directed to the family. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
