William Edward Gerald Ellixson

William Edward Gerald Ellixson, 59, of  Higgins Lake passed away on Saturday March 16, 2019 at home.

William was born on November 20, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan to William and Ewardine (Kumm) Ellixson. He moved with his family from Detroit to the Higgins Lake area when Bill was nine.  Bill served in the Marines following his graduation from Roscommon High School.. He worked in the Detroit are as a Machinist in several shops.  He later was a mason belonging to the Laborer's International Union of North America.  Bill attended St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church.  Bill was a history buff and liked to watch documentaries,  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always having a good time, and known to be a big time story teller.  Bill especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Ellixson are his daughter, Sarah Ellixson of Cadillac; son, William E.C. (Jessica Caro) Ellixson of Higgins Lake; grandson, William J.C. Ellixson; granddaughter, Avah Lea Ellixson; sister, Charisse Ellixson of Grayling; former wife, Lori VanDuinen of HigginsLake.  William was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services for William Edward Gerald Ellixson will be conducted at St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church, Higgins Lake on Saturday May 4, 2019 at 1:00 pm. The family will greet friends from 12:00 pm until the time of the service. Interment will be in Gerrish Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of William are asked to be directed to St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church.  Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
