Allen R. Moot

Marion- Allen Rex Moot of Marion, passed unexpectedly on Sunday April 20, 2025, as of a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 71.

Allen was born December 27,1953 in Evart, MI, to Floyd and Iva (Robinson) Moot. One out of five boys that joined their family. They grew up and attended school in Evart, before adventuring downstate to Lapeer for a few years. He made his way back to the Marion area where he resided for the last decade. Allen was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He loved the woods and enjoyed every moment with his hunting buddy and best friend Michael Bissett. He loved the woods and enjoyed every moment he could get in nature.  Allen took in every available season from bow to rifle and turkey to deer.  Allen appreciated the hunt.

Allen is survived by his brother, Donald (Nancy) Moot of Rockford; his daughters, Tonya (Ron) Russ of Cadillac and Tammy (Michael) Heitkamp of Marion; step-kids, Larry (Jamie) Roy of Flint, David (Christy) Roy of Florida, and Tinesha (Tustin) Cool of Owosso; his longtime girlfriend, Jill Mcgechy; and many grandkids and great-grandkids; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iva Robinson and Floyd Moot; his daughter, Amy Jo Moot; son-in-law, Charles Heitkamp; and three brothers, Arnold, Dick and Ronald Moot.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at Sylvan cemetery. Where he will be laid to rest alongside his family.   Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
