Allen L. Walker

Allen L. Walker, age 84, of Prudenville passed away on Wednesday November 20, 2024 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City with his loving family by his side.

Allen was born on April 29, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan to Leland and Bernice (Allen) Walker. He received his Master's Degree from the University of Oklahoma. Allen was a manager for Ford Motor Company and retired after 34 years. He was married on August 31, 1963 in Grosse Pointe Woods to Kathryn Weisse. The couple moved to Lake James 50 years ago. Allen always called Lake James "God's Country". Allen was a member of the Houghton Lake Eagles, Houghton-Higgins Lake Elks Lodge, NRA and did volunteer work throughout the community. He enjoyed watching University of Michigan football and fishing.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 61 years; Kathryn Walker of Prudenville, daughter; Dorothea Walker of Grayling, his beloved pet Wanda and dear friends that were like brothers; J. Emerson and J. Broadwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Patricia Miller and all of his loving pets throughout the years.  

The family will conduct a private memorial in the spring of 2025.
