April Ann Smith, 73, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Monday November 15, 2021 at home with her loving husband by her side.

April was born on August 12, 1948 in Flint, Michigan to Aubrey  and Faye (Quillmack) Call. She grew up in the Flint area and graduated from Holly hIgh School.  April was married on March 26, 1970 in Fenton to Daniel Claude Smith. She was a homemaker and a busy mother of two children. April was an active member of the Houghton Lake Eagles where she became a member of the Houghton Lake Hooker's Crocheting Club. She will be greatly missed by her by many friends.. Her special love was spending time with her loving husband of over 50 years, Dan.

Surviving Mrs. Smith are her husband, Daniel C. Smith of Houghton Lake; daughter, Jill Marie (Dana) Quattlebaum of SC; son, Jeffrey Ronald (Sandy) Bailey of TN;  two grandchildren, Justin and Cory; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Patty Jean (Mike) Hewitt of Houghton Lake, and  Niki (Thomas) Brill of Fenton; brother, Alan Call of Midland; several nieces and nephews.  April was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Tracy Call, and Rae Call. 

A dual graveside service for both Dan and April will be held Nov 29 2021 at Roscommon Township Cemetery in Houghton Lake @1pm, to be followed by a luncheon at the Houghton Lake Eagles. Memorial contributions in memory of Dan and April are asked to be directed to the charity of the donors choice. Christler Funeral Home Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
