Arlene Kimbel Obituary

Arlene Ruth Kimbel, of Manton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 24, 2025 at her home with family by her side. She was 95.

Arlene was born on April 21, 1930 in South Boardman, Michigan to James and Marybelle (Krumklauf) McCuaig. After raising her family, she spent her career working at Manton Industries. On June 4, 1948 she entered into marriage with Donald Kimbel in Lake City. The couple spent 59 years together until his time of passing on March 27, 2007. She was faithfully involved in the Manton Baptist Church throughout the years, where her husband served as a deacon.

Arlene loved her family above all else.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for family gatherings, playing board games with her grandchildren, and embroidery.  She loved attending her children, grandchildren and even great grands’ sporting events, especially football and basketball.  She never missed a Tiger baseball game if it was on TV. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the children come and go from the school across the street.  She served as school crossing guard for many years.  Arlene’s quiet strength and resilience, served her well throughout her 95 years.

Arlene is survived by her loving children, Gordon (Linda) Kimbel, Carolyn (Sam) Knott, Jerry (Connie) Kimbel, Jeff Kimbel, Richard Kimbel, John (Lesa) Kimbel, and Daniel Kimbel; daughter-in-law, Jean Kimbel; 22 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marybelle McCuaig; husband, Donald Kimbel; son, Roger Kimbel; daughter-in-law, Judy Kimbel; granddaughter Linda Soles Ash;  brothers, James, Stanley, and Murl; sisters, Bernice, Betty, Helen and Thelma.
