Arthur William Sapp Jr., of the Lake City area, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at his home in Harrison surrounding by his loving family. He was 85.
Arthur was born on September 11, 1940 to Arthur William and Elizabeth (West) Sapp Sr. in Detroit, Michigan. He proudly answered the call of duty serving in the United states Marines. Upon returning to civilian life, he owned and operated several auto businesses around the Detroit, Cadillac and Lake City areas, until his time of retirement. Arthur obtained his pilots license and could often be founding flying around Lake City on a plane. On April 1, 2005 he entered into marriage with the former Noemie Caalim Dumlao in the Phillipines. After residing there for two years together, the couple relocated back to the Harrison area. In his spare time, he enjoyed repairing and fixing cars. He was an avid sports fan and liked watching the Detroit Lions and Michigan Football games, as well as the Detroit Tigers baseball games. Arthur enjoyed being outdoors and loved taking the family on boating trips on Lake Missaukee and going fishing. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Noemie Sapp; children, Anne Marie (Gary) Holliday, Johnmy Dumlao, MaryRose Sapp, Barbara Ann Sapp; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly, Barbara Jean, and Marilyn; special nephew, Larry (Tareeshia) Sapp Jr., and his children, Elijah, Eamon, Eliana and Emilia; and many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Sapp Sr.; a son, Arthur William Sapp III; his first wife, Catherine Sapp; and his siblings, Donald, Shirley, Danny and Larry Sr.
Funeral services will held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 1 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior at Young-Holdship Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Lake City Cemetery.
