Arthur John Schmitt

Arthur John Schmitt Jr., of Mesick, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at his home with family by his side. He was 87.

Arthur was born on February 22, 1938 to Arthur and Wilma (Hartman) Schmitt Sr. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Arthur was married 68 years and survived by his loving wife, Marie Sandra "Sandy" (Arndt) Schmitt. He is also survived by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Shively (husband, Douglas); granddaughters, Jessica (Luke) Sanford, Amanda (Robert) Rogers, Alicia (Joe) Cortez;  many wonderful great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids; numerous nieces and nephews, especially Laura Edall and Morris Johnson, Rick and Donna Watson, and Theresa Smith. He is also survived by a half sister and brother.
  
A private family committal service will take place.
