Barbara M. (Burns) Hensley

Barbara Marie Hensley, age 73, of Houghton Lake passed away on Sunday August 27, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on July 6, 1950 in Lansing, Michigan to Leroy and Gladys (Crampton) Burns. For most of her working life, she worked as a claims adjuster for AAA, retiring in 2005, after 34 years with them. Barbara was married in Mason, Michigan to Clyde J. Hensley in 1988. They lived together, peacefully, in the Houghton Lake area until his passing in 2013. She was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, a loving spouse, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family dearly, and she will be truly missed.

Surviving Barbara Hensley are her loving son; Shannon Williams of Houghton Lake, step-children; Tim Hensley of Mason, Tom Hensley of Holt, Tammy Hensley of Lansing, and Terrie Hensley of Lansing, granddaughter; Taylor Williams, step-grandchildren; Scotty, Zach, Hayes and Chase, great-grandchildren; Anthony Young and Veda Carino, step- great grandchild; Dustin Jr. and her brother; Gary Burns.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; Leroy and Gladys Burns, and her husband; Clyde Hensley, brother; Fred Burns, and step-grandchild; Dustin Sr.. 

A Memorial service is planned for Saturday September 23, 2023 from 1 pm - 4 pm at the Mason VFW Post 7309 located at 1243 Hull Road, Mason, Michigan 48854.
