Obituary

Basil Dean Shivlie, age 67 of Lake City, passed away at home, on May 11, 2023.

Basil was born May 4, 1956 in Muskegon to Clarence and Ruth (Seeley) Shivlie.

He was united in marriage to Georgia Carol Pettigrew on November 25, 1987.

Basil was a machine operator at Saber Tool in Cadillac. He loved fishing and tinkering around the house and yard.  He enjoyed Nascar racing and football and betting on them with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Carol Shivlie.

Basil was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Bobby Shivlie and Tim Shivlie, sisters: Audrey Shivlie and Neva Shivlie-Riedl and a special niece, Nelly Riedl-Thompson.

A graveside service will take place at the Lake City Cemetery on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 12:30 p.m.

There will be a get together after the service at Marty’s Pizza & Grill, 615 N. Front Street, Lake City.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
