Benjamin F. Cates

Cadillac - Benjamin Franklin Cates, of Cadillac and formerly of  Texas, Colorado, and Lake City, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at home. He was 64.

He was born on July 9, 1961, in Flint, Michigan to Norman and Arthel (Snyder) Cates. Ben was a graduate of Lake City High School before heading out west for his career driving truck.

Ben is survived by three children, Kevin, Casey, and Nickolas; his three grandchildren, Timothy, Ivy, Larissa; his siblings, Andy, Steve, Eric, Larry, and Joan. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Arthel Cates; a sister, Valerie; and a brother, Timothy.
