Benny Charles Navarro

Benny Charles Navarro, 74, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Thursday July 17, 2025 at home with his loving family at his side.

Benny was born on July 27, 1950 in Mason, Michigan to Erasmo and Sussanna(Vasquez) Navarro. He grew up in the Lansing area where he attended school. Benny served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War Era.  On February 21, 1980 Benny was married in Lansing to Debra Ann Merritt. The couple moved to the Houghton Lake area from Lansing fourteen years ago.  Benny was a Construction Worker with the Michigan Laborers Union for many years before his retirement. 

Surviving Mr.Navarro are his loving wife of 45 years, Debra Ann Navarro of Houghton Lake; two sons, Bob (Brenda) Navarro of Clinton Township, and Brian Navarro of Mason; six grandchildren; sister, Esther Navarro of Lansing.  Benny was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Carlos Navarro. 

A Memorial Gathering with Military Services for Benny Charles Navarro will be conducted from 2:00pm to 4:00pm Sunday  July 27, 2025 from the Houghton Lake VFW Post 4034, 935 S. Loxley Road, Houghton Lake.  Memorial contributions in memory of Benny are asked to be directed to the family. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
