Bernard J. Malkowski

Bernard J. Malkowski, age 90, of Houghton Lake passed away on Monday May 22, 2023 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.

Bernard was born on May 29, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Bernard and Angeline (Antosz) Malkowski. He was married on August 6, 1955 in Rogers City to Patricia Modrzynski. Bernard was a mechanical engineer for many years. The couple moved to Houghton Lake over 30 years ago from Northville. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and enjoyed reading and playing golf. He was in the golf leagues at White Deer and the Quest. Bernard always looked forward to traveling with the guys and playing at different courses.

Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 67 years; Patricia Malkowski, children; Mark (Nancy) Malkowski, Tom Malkowski and Bernie (Jill) Malkowski, grandchildren; Ken, Joe, Annie, Mark, Bridget and Natalie and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial for Bernard Malkowski will be conducted on Thursday May 25, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 11 am with Father Peter Eke officiating. Interment will be in Denton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 24, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home- Prudenville Chapel and on Thursday May 25, 2023 at the church from 10 am until the time of the service.
