Bernard Nelson Prielipp, of Marion, went home to his Lord on Monday, January 26, 2026 at his home in Marion. He was 86.
Bernard was born on January 11, 1940 to Wilbur and Lucille (Richardson) Prielipp in West Branch, Michigan. He entered into marriage with the former Anna Grace Turner on February 8, 1971 in Marion, Michigan. The couple spent over 51 years together, until her time of passing in 2022. He began his career working for the family farm as a kid. He then worked at a gas station for several years in Marion. Bernard spent the remainder of his career working for oil fields and drilling companies and was remembered as a jack of all trades. Bernard was a devoted father, proud grandfather, and a steady presence to all who knew him. In his younger years, he found joy in the outdoors, especially quail hunting, where his patience and appreciation for nature were on full display. Those early passions stayed with him, shaping a lifelong love of the simple, meaningful moments in life.
Above all else, Bernard cherished his family. He rarely missed a chance to attend his children’s, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events, cheering faithfully from the sidelines and taking pride in their accomplishments. In later years, he enjoyed traveling to new places and flying, tending to his garden, and sharing stories from a life well lived. Bernard will be remembered for his quiet dedication, his love of family, and the care he put into everything he did. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bernard is survived by his loving children, Jody (Tom) Clark, Kelly (Crystal Bur) Richter, Byron (Lisa) Prielipp, Kristine Larmaan and Kelly Jane (Sonya) Prielipp; grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan (Falissa), Samantha (David), Caleb, Brent (Kari), Kelsey, Megan, Kassandra, Larissa (Jed), Katie (Zack), Christopher, and Amanda; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Christie) Prielipp and John (Jean) Prielipp; sister-in-law, Annette Prielipp; as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Grace Prielipp; sons, Tim Richter and Bryan Prielipp; grandson, Trevor Stieg; brother, Barry Prielipp; and his parents, Wilbur and Lucille Prielipp.
