Beverley Jean Sands

Beverley Jean Sands, age 90 of Lake City passed away February 9, 2023 at Munson Healthcare in Traverse City.

Beverley was born in Pontiac January 15, 1933 to Frederick and Beatrice (Coffey) France.

Beverley was united in marriage to Manley Hughes and he preceded her in death in 1973. She married Orville K. Sands and he preceded her in death in 2012.

Beverley enjoyed gardening and taking care of her yard.  Time spent sitting on her porch and watching the birds was always refreshing to her as well as staying active in her work shop.  She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Lake City.

Beverley is survived by her son, Michael Hughes and a daughter in law, Julie Hughes.

Her step children are Sharon, Linda, Cynthia, Barbara, Nancy, David and Bart. She is  also survived by her grandsons, Michael, Scott, Jason and Chad and several other grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Two brothers, Sonny (Dorothy) France and Jim (Louise) France and a sister in law, Betty France also survive her.

Beverley was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Manley Hughes and a brother, Richard France.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Lake City with Rev. Michael Janowski officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to services.  Beverley will be laid to rest on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lakeview Cemetery in Clarkston.
