Beverly Ann (Peters) Peabody

Beverly Ann Peabody, 82, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side.

Beverly was born on November 21, 1940 in Houghton Lake Heights, Michigan to Joseph and Adeline (Breyer) Peters. She grew up in the Houghton Lake area and attended Houghton Lake Community Schools.  Beverly spent her entire life in the Houghton Lake area where she was a waitress for Bob's Coney Island and later was a cook for Whiteheads Restaurant and Catering for many years.  Beverly met a young Army buddy of her brother Dick while they where on leave.  This meeting turned into marriage for Beverly and Lawrence "Larry" Peabody on May 5, 1962 in Williamston.  Beverly enjoyed horses, along with doing arts and crafts.  She also was a wonderful cook and loved hosting game nights with family and friends. Beverly's special passion was spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

Surviving Mrs. Peabody are her two sons, Larry J. (Brenda) Peabody of Sebastian, FL, and David C. (Christine) Peabody of Harrison; six grandchildren, Dusty, Drew, Brent, Justin, Jake, and Alisha; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph (Betty) Peters of Lansing, Gary "Denny" (Sandy) Peters of Laingsburg, and Larry (Bonnie) Peters of Houghton Lake; two sisters, Shirley Mouser of Williamsburg, and Carol (Mike) Pierce of Lansing; numerous nieces and nephews.  Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Clyde Peabody; two sisters, Debbie Peters, and Mary Boss; three brothers, Dick Peters, Terry Peters, and Bobby Peters. 

Celebration of Life Services for Beverly Ann Peabody will be conducted at a later date.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial contributions in memory of Beverly are asked to be directed to the American Cancer Society. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
