Bonita "Bonnie" E. (Kirkman) Randall

Bonita "Bonnie" Ellen Randall, age 97, of Houghton Lake passed away on Saturday November 27, 2021 at The Horizon Senior Living Center in Saint Helen with her loving family by her side.

Bonnie was born on February 10, 1924 in Benkelman, Nebraska to Ivan and Ruby (Pickens) Kirkman. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1949, where she received her Bachelors degree in elementary education. Bonnie traveled by train to Houghton Lake, Michigan where she began her career in teaching first grade for Houghton Lake Community Schools. While teaching at Houghton Lake she met her husband Donald Randall. The couple was united in marriage on June 12, 1950. Bonnie taught for Houghton Lake Community schools for 23 years, from 1949 to 1989. She was a charter member of the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and the Houghton Lake Education Association. Bonnie enjoyed reading, needle work and gardening.

Bonnie is survived by her children; Ed (Peggy) Randall, Rita (Dave) Outman, and Deena (Eric) Mann, son-in-law; Ken (Mary) Plude, grandchildren; Jason, Sonya, Scott, and Nicole, step-grandchildren; Andrew, Nick, Erica, Cliff, Danae, and Danielle, seven great grandchildren with one on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Donald Randall, daughter; Neldea Plude, sister; Eula Ham, brothers; Ashley Kirkman, Quentin Kirkman, and Leslie Kirkman.

Funeral Services for Bonita Ellen Randall will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday December 3, 2021 at the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Harbin officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday December 3, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church.
