Bonnie Jean Matyanczyk, 91, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025. She was born on August 7, 1933, to Helene and Albert Lewis, and was one of 14 children. Bonnie’s life was marked by love, faith, and dedication to her family.
She was married to Norman Shippy for 30 years, until his passing in 1997. After nearly 40 years, Bonnie was reunited with Carl Matyanczyk. They married and shared many years of happiness together until Carl's passing in 2010.
Bonnie’s family was the heart of her world. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bonnie will be remembered for her kindness, her contagious smile and her deep faith that guided her through life. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Mark (Karen) Shippy, daughters, Lisa (Chris) Richardson, and Laura Shippy; grandchildren, Andrew (Monica), Kyle (Amber), Cody (Cassie), Ciara, Anthony (Stephanie), Noah (Emma) and Nick (Gracen); 7 great-grandchildren (soon to be 10); sisters, Emma, Marilyn and Marjory, brother, Terry (Joyce) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at Young-Holdship Funeral Home, 403 S. Pine Street, Lake City on Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m.
Bonnie will always be remembered for her boundless love, her devotion to her family, and her unwavering faith.
