Brenda M. (Eberhardt) Dorman

Marion - Brenda M. Dorman, lifelong resident of Marion passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Pleasant Ridge Assisted Living. She was 84.

Brenda was born on July 19, 1941, in Marion, Michigan to William and Vera (Bowersox) Eberhardt. She grew up and attended school in Marion and was a graduate with the class of 1959.  On April 11, 1959 she entered into marriage with Richard "Dick" Dorman, celebrating over 48 years together until his passing in 2007.

Brenda could often be found reading, knitting, crocheting, and baking.  She would often share her delicious baked goods with several friends and folks around town, not to mention her grandkids. Brenda had the gift of gab and loved to chat over a cup of coffee or visit with her friends at the local diner.  But nothing took precedence over her role as grandma, Brenda enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with her family especially her several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a longtime and supportive member of the Marion United Methodist Church and will be remembered for teaching Sunday school, singing in the church choir, helping with funeral luncheons and cleaning the church. 

Brenda is survived by her two children, Lori (Doug) Mitchell and Rick (Julie) Dorman all of Marion; her beloved grandchildren, Jason (Jill) Mitchell, Corey Mitchell, Je'Nae (Scott) McCrimmon, Andrew  (Brandy) Pluger,  Aric (Mandie) Pluger, Ashley (Alex) Bobon, Joshua (Heather) Dorman; 17 great-grandchildren, with her first great-great-granddaughter expected in September; her brother, Bob (Pauline) Eberhardt and sister Beth ( Rick) Bettis and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews; as well as many other loving family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Dorman; parents, William G. Eberhardt and Vera Mae Montgomery; two brothers, Bruce and Brian Eberhardt; and her daughter, Lynda Baughan

Visitation for friends and family will be held at the Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home from 4pm until 7pm on Friday,  August 22, 2025.  Memorial services will follow Saturday at 12 noon also at the Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home in  Marion. Officiating will be Rev. Deb Johnson. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Greenwood Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Marion United Methodist Church.
