Bridget Lee Jonkis

Bridget Lee Jonkis, 73, of  Prudenville passed away on Thursday May 15, 2025 at her home.

Bridget was born on January 29, 1952 in Bay City, Michigan to Robert and Loretta (Stepanski) Jonkis. She grew up in the Bay City area where she graduated from Bay City Central high School.  Bridget went on to Saginaw Valley State University to receive her degree in Social Work.  She worked for many years at Camp Nekomis in Prudenville as a social worker. Bridget enjoyed sewing and loved doing stained glass work.

Surviving Ms. Jonkis are her two brothers, Philip Jonkis of Houghton Lake, and Andy Jonkis of Higgins Lake; sister, Molly Jonkis of Houghton Lake; and niece, Kylea Wakefield of Houghton Lake.  Bridget was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Katherine Wakefield, and nephew, Travis Wakefield. 

Memorial Services for Bridget Lee Jonkis will be conducted at 1:00pm Saturday June 14, 2025 from Pathways Baptist Church in Prudenville with Pastor Jeff Tuttle officiating.  Memorial contributions in memory of Bridget are asked to be directed to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter.
