Bruce Fockler Obituary

Bruce Fockler, age 60, of Howard City, formerly of Lake City,  passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at home.

Bruce was born February 3, 1961 in Clare, MI to Dale and Phyllis Fockler.

Bruce grew up in Lake City and graduated in 1979 from Lake City High School and attended Central Michigan University for three years before serving in the United States Marine Corp from 1982 to 1986. 

Bruce worked at Four Winns in Cadillac in their design department.  He moved to Oregon and Washington State and worked for over twenty years for Seabrook  Development Company as an Architectural Designer until the present.

Bruce was united in marriage to Olga Botero Mejia on March 18, 2000 in Lincoln City, Oregon.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Olga and three children: Sophia Marie Fockler, at home and Stephanie Rene (Santiago) Fockler and Sean Montgomery and two grandchildren: Rosalynn Sanchez and Avery Walker.

Also surviving him are his mother, Phyllis Fockler and two brothers, Steve (Cheryl) Fockler and Paul Fockler and sister, Shellon North and nieces and nephews and  his mother in law, Ofelia Mejia Botero and brother and sister in laws, Oscar (Laura) Botero, Martha (Jim) Eising and Clara (Carlos) Alvarado.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Dale Fockler, grandparents: Lloyd and Frances Fockler and John and Madge Williams, brother in law, Bob North,  Lloyd LaCross, father in law, Fabio Botero and sister in law, Carmenza Botero.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City with Pastor Wayne VanDuinen officiating.

A time of visitation will begin at 12:00 noon until the beginning of services.

Burial will take place at the Lake City Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Jackson Koster Gray Legion Post 300 of Lake City.
