Candis "Candy" E. McQueen

Manton - Candis "Candy" (Atchinson) McQueen, of Manton passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Munson Healthcare's Cadillac Hospital. She was 74.

She was born in Pontiac, MI on August 17, 1947 to Robert and Marjorie (Weikle) Atchinson. On August 31, 1979, Candis entered into marriage with John McQueen Jr., in Pontiac. In 1997 Candis and John moved to Manton, Michigan.  Candis loved taking care of her children and spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. She loved going on long drives in the country with her husband Johnny, being in nature, planting gardens and being around her animals. 

Candis is survived by her loving husband, John McQueen Jr., of Manton; her mother, Marjorie; sister, Michel Atchison; her children, Angela and (Craig) Spicer, Valerie Madill, Keri Madill, Yvonne Detrick, Melissa Thoel, Alicia Madill, Sean McQueen, Siobhan McQueen; 20 grandkids; 5 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeramy Madill and her father, Robert Atchison.

Graveside committal services will be at 3:30 pm on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Liberty Township Cemetery in Manton, located on N. 41 Road. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
