Carolyn (Miller) Fewless, beloved mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 25 at the age of 86. She was known for her deep love of and unwavering dedication to family, her warm and generous spirit, and the strength with which she lived her life.
Carolyn was born on April 20, 1939 in Cadillac, Michigan to the late David and Ethel (Green) Miller, where she was raised on the family farm with her sister and two brothers enjoying many family adventures including fishing, hunting, and ice boating. She later began working at the Cadillac Library, where she would work until retirement and enjoy many fun times with her co-workers. On March 20, 1965 she married the love of her life, Bernard Fewless of LeRoy, in the First Covenant Church of Cadillac and they built a house south of Cadillac, making it a loving home for over 50 years of celebrated marriage before Bernie’s passing.
As a Sunday School teacher and dedicated Christian, she spread love and joy to countless people over the years, regardless of time and circumstances, even inviting a nurse to bible study in her final days because that’s who she was. Singing hymns was a love and comfort to her in all times of her life.
Her family was everything to her. She attended as many softball, baseball, band, and other activities as possible over the years.
She was preceded in death by loving husband, Bernard Fewless, and siblings, Fred Miller, Richard (Anna Kay)Miller and Carol (David) Tyler.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Kathy) Fewless of Cadillac and Randy (Amy) Fewless of Traverse City; grandchildren Quinn (Levi Barton) Yurack of Shepherd, Liza (Tyler) Crampo of Pinckney, Cam (Kalynn) Fewless of Traverse City, Philip Fewless of Cadillac, Nick Fewless of Traverse City; great-grandchildren Lilly, Kayla, Lincoln, and Asher; and many other loving family members and friends.
She will be remembered as a devoted Christian for her kindness, unwavering dedication to her family, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery, next to her husband.
