Chancey D. "Duff" Hose, 82, of Houghton Lake passed away on Thursday February 21, 2019 at The Lighthouse at Roscommon Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Duff was born on April 7, 1936 in Butterfield Township, Missaukee County to Sylvester and Grace (Ogden) Hose. He served as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, retiring from the Air Force in 1973. Duff was married on April 29, 1972 in Houghton Lake to Eva L. "Edie" McKay. He worked for many years for Widdis Sand and Gravel after retiring from the Air Force. He was an active member of the Houghton Lake VFW Post #4034 Honor Guard, Am Vets and the Houghton Lake Eagles. He loved the outdoors, enjoying gardening, ice fishing and trapping.
Surviving Mr. Hose are his son, James (Precila) Hose of Hanover; three step-daughters, Kathy Kamppi of Puyallup, WA, Denise (Ernie) Green of Lynn Haven, FL, and Julie (Lance LeTourneau) Peters of Houghton Lake; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Wayne) Wagner of Sheridan and Sandy Anderson of Grand Blanc, several nieces and nephews and special friend Oscar. Duff was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eva L. "Edie" Hose; son, David F. Hose; brother, Junior Hose and sister, Janet Holden.
Funeral Services for Chancey D. "Duff" Hose will be conducted at Christler Funeral Home- Houghton Lake Chapel on Wednesday February 27, 2019 at 12 pm with Rev. Bryan Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 26, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Christler Funeral Home- Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial contributions in memory of Duff are asked to be directed to charity of the donor's choice. Christler Funeral Home- Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
