Charles Nickerson Obituary

Charles M. Nickerson, age 74, of Prudenville passed away on Wednesday April 3, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born on December 30, 1949 in Flint, Michigan to Clarence and Barbara (Morley) Nickerson. He served in the US Army. Charles was married on April 26, 1969 in Saint Helen to Norma Barker. He retired from General Motors where he started out on the assembly line and worked his way up to supervisor. The couple have been coming up to the area since 1957 but moved here after his retirement. Charles was a member of the Saint Helen VFW Post 5680. He enjoyed reading science fiction, playing golf, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 55 years; Norma Nickerson, children; Bill (Kris) Nickerson of Charlotte and Angie (Greg) Englehart of Prudenville, grandchildren; Mikalah Stone, Tyler Englehart, Elsa Nickerson and Bridget Nickerson, great granddaughter Oaklynn Willy, sisters; Mickey Nickerson, Diane Huffman and Debbie (Jim) Gentile. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this spring. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.christler-holdship.com
