Christina M. Loney

Mesick - Christina Margery Loney, lifelong resident of Mesick area passed away at home with family by her side on Friday, May 1, 2026. She was 90.

She was born on August 25, 1935, in Copemish, Michigan to Harvey and Agnes (Taylor) Jones. On August 23, 1953, she entered into marriage with the Daniel Edward Loney at the Minar Bible Church in Mesick; the two shared 67 years together before his passing in 2021. Christina worked at 4Star in Mesick and Mitchell-Bently in Benzonia for a number of years, before going to work for United Tech in Traverse City eventually retiring in 1998. 

Christina is survived by her loving family; her three daughters, Marjorie (Lawrence) Keese, Betty Posey, and Alice Dauthrich;  her son-in-law, Elmer "Bud" Phillips; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; her daughter, Connie Jo Phillips; sister, Irene Spoor; brothers, Marvin and Irvin Jones in infancy; Sisters, Velma (Lester) Smith and Katherine (Bob) Bickel; one brother, Harvey (Rosie) Jones. 

Per her wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Interment will be held at the Antioch Township Cemetery in Mesick.
