Cleo Irene (Blair) Griffen, of Harrietta, Michigan, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 in Cadillac. She was 97.
Cleo was born on June 24, 1927 in Pioneer Township, Missaukee County, Michigan to Fred and Carrie Blair. She was a graduate of Lake City High School. She spent her career working as a secretary at many businesses over the years. She started her career at St. Johns Table Company, and then spent years at Four Star Corp, Brooks and Perkins, and Lance Corporation in South Carolina. Cleo also enjoyed selling Real Estate for many years in the Cadillac and surrounding areas. Cleo enjoyed working with her brother, Charles, for his carpentry business. She was flipping houses before there was even the term "flipping houses". Cleo enjoyed researching her family genealogy and was very proud of her Blair lineage.
She is survived by her children, Jacquelin (Tom) Sorensen of Harrietta, Dirk (Debra) Colby of Reidsville, NC, and Kimela Scheil of Caro, MI. She has 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Gary Lynn Colby; brothers, Charles Kemper and Lester Blair; a sister, Lucille Smith; and great-granddaughter, Colby Bottoms.
Per Cleo's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at noon at the United Methodist Church in Harrietta,116 Davis Ave, Harrietta, MI 49638.
