Traverse City, Michigan- Dallas "Moose" Harry McDaniel, of Manton, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. He was 77.
Dallas was born on October 12, 1941 to Gilbert and Keitha Bell (Burdick) McDaniel in Lansing, Michigan. He was a graduate of Manton High School and later attended Ferris State University. Dallas answered the call of duty serving in the U.S. Air Force. In October 1966 he married Beverly A. Bigelow in Manton. The couple spent 51 years together until her time of passing on January 29, 2018. Dallas enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and tending to his garden. He was on a bowling league where he enjoyed spending time with friends. Dallas was a member of the former Manton VFW. He enjoyed making special trips to the casino. Dallas cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Dallas is survived by his children, Mike (Carrie) McDaniel of Manton and Helen (Ray) Bates of Manton; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Brandon, Peyton, Hannah, Kody, Sonny, Jesse and Brianna; one great-grandchild on the way; sister, Mary Moore; and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by wife, Beverly; parents, Gilbert and Keitha Bell; infant son, Dallas Gilbert; and a sister, Leannah Janet Jensen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hall-Holdship Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Will Markham to preside. Military honors will be provided by the Cadillac Area Honor Guard. Interment will take place at Greenwood Township Cemetery in Manton. A luncheon will follow the committal service at Liberty Township Hall.
