Daniel "Dan" F. Lauzon, age 78, of Houghton Lake, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Munson Healthcare-Grayling Hospital.
Dan was born on December 16, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, to Clifford and Theresa (Baras) Lauzon. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Dan moved to the Houghton Lake area in 1978. He was a Roscommon Township police officer for many years and also worked for Petrolane Gas Company. He married Barbara Wiggins, and the couple enjoyed spending their winters in Alabama. After retiring, he became a handyman. Dan always enjoyed staying busy; he loved to tinker. He enjoyed woodworking, crafting, hunting, and fishing.
Dan is survived by his wife, Barb Lauzon; children, Dan (Darlene Sensor) Lauzon, Chris (Jodi Cronk-Wiggins) Wiggins, Barb (Toby) Paulson; granddaughter, Alex; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Kiley; siblings, Jerry (Denise) Lauzon, John Lauzon, and Lucy Knechtel, and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Terri Ann, brother, Cliff, and nephews, Ryan and Jeff.
Graveside Services for Daniel F. Lauzon will be conducted at Lake Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake, on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 1 pm with Father Michael Steltenkamp SJ officiating.
