David "Dobby" J. Vereb, age 81, of Houghton Lake, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Dobby was born on April 19, 1944, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Steve and Theresa (Bolgar) Vereb. He was a Special Education Teacher for many years before retiring and moving to Houghton Lake. Dobby's children were his beloved dogs, Babe, Babe 2, Beau, Xena, Brit, and Abby, whom he loved dearly. It is now time that we "Walk over the Rainbow Bridge Together."
Dobby is survived by his good friend, David Yantz, neighbors, Rick (Deb Phillips) Tuttle, three nieces, several cousins, and his one true love, Patsy Ethridge. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dennis Vereb and Dale Vereb.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township.
