Delphine Theresa Socha, 92 Years, of Houghton Lake passed away on Wednesday September 15, 2021 at Medilodge of Gaylord.
Delphine was born on August 1, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to Leo and Cecelia (Pawlak) Okray. She grew up in the Detroit area and graduated from Assumption High School in Detroit. On October 7, 1950 in Detroit, Delphine was married to Edward Joseph Socha. Delphine worked as a secretary for the Dearborn Bank for many years. The couple moved from Pinckney to Houghton Lake in 1990. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, and enjoyed reading the newspaper and doing crossword puzzles. Her special love was spending time with her family, especially her beloved, Edward.
Surviving Mrs. Socha are her two sons, Ronald (Cynthia) Socha of Gaylord, and Thomas Socha of Houghton Lake; granddaughter, Chelsea (Derek) Styes of Onaway; grandson, Jason Socha of Waterford; two great grandchildren, Paige, and Daniel; sister, Marian Wojciechowski of Detroit; one niece and several nephews. Delphine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Joseph Socha; son, Michael Socha; sister, Dorothy Wydick.
Mass of Christian Burial for Delphine Theresa Socha will be conducted at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Monday September 20, 2021 with Fr. Peter Eke officiating. Interment will be in Denton Twp. Cemetery, Prudenville. Visitation will be held on Monday September 20, 2021 at Our Lady of the Lake Church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions in memory of Delphine are asked to be directed to Our Lady of the Lake Church. Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
