Dennis M. Borsum

Lake City - Dennis Michael Borsum, longtime resident of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was 67.

Dennis was born on August 15, 1951, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Ervin and Betty (Shelley) Borsum. He grew up attending Lake City schools and was a member of the graduating class of 1970.  On September 13, 1975, Dennis, entered into marriage with the former Debra Jones. Dennis made a career working with Michigan Rubber for a good number years before his eventual retirement. He was passionate for the outdoors and was able to work as a fishing guide, as well as express his talents as a successful taxidermist.  Dennis will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Deb Borsum of Lake City; his daughter, Emily (Josh Russell) Borsum of Buckley; his beloved granddaughter, Violet; his parents, Ervin and Betty  Borsum of Lake City; one sister, Wanda  Ervans of Reading; as well as many other loving family members, friends and former co-workers. 

Memorial services will take place at 3:00 pm at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13, 2019, with visitation one hour prior.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lymphoma Foundation.
