Dennis Lyle Peterson Sr.

Houghton Lake - Dennis Lyle Peterson Sr., of Houghton Lake, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. He was 69.

Dennis was born on March 14, 1953, in Cadillac, Michigan to Chris and Pauline (Wilson) Peterson. He was married to the former Robin Rae VanBrocklin on March 30, 1970, in Moorestown, MI. 

After his time growing up in the Moorestown area he went to work at Cadillac Rubber and Hose in Manton before moving to Lear in Roscommon, where he retired from.  Dennis' green thumb served him well as he could often be found in the garden tending to flowers, herbs,  and his vegetables. He enjoyed playing with the dog, Smokey, watching Tv, or just simply sitting outside enjoying retirement.  

Dennis is survived by his son, Dennis L. Peterson, Jr. of Houghton Lake; his daughter, Raeline Peterson of Houghton Lake; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Shania, and Destinee; great-grandchildren, Ava, Thackery, Kinleigh, Axxton, and Dawsyn, with another baby boy, Luka anticipated soon; his sisters, Leona Stanley and Debbie (Keith) Willoughby; brothers-in-law, Russell, Tom (Renee) VanBrocklin, and Jeff (Gloria) VanBrocklin; sister-in-law, Debra (Rick) Rogers; and many other loving family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Rae Peterson; his siblings, Sandy Bard and Barbara Sutton, and a brother, Arlin at a younger age, and Christen "Chris" Peterson; brother-in-law, Joe VanBrocklin, and his parents.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to family.
