Dennis J. Pouliot

Dennis J. Pouliot, age 79, of Houghton Lake passed away on Monday November 13, 2023 at King Nursing & Rehabilitation Community surrounded by his loving family.

Dennis was born on April 5, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to James and Rita (Lenhard) Pouliot. He was married on September 26, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan to Karen E. Tessmer. Dennis retired from Ford Motor Company where he was a General Supervisor. After retirement the couple moved to Houghton Lake. He was a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Allen Park Knights of Columbus. Dennis attended Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and St. James Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. His true joy came from the love of building things. His building accomplishments included building his dream home at Houghton Lake and a beautiful home in Salem Twp., he also built a multitude of cabins, barns and garages, as well as, cedar strip canoes and kayaks and worked on countless renovation projects throughout the years. 
 
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Karen Pouliot, sons; Michael Pouliot, Gregory Pouliot, Jeffrey (Courtney) Pouliot and Steven (Alyssa) Pouliot, grandchildren; Brendan, Lucas, Trevor, Grady, Bryanna, Logan and Jacob, siblings; Ronald (Gloria) Pouliot, James (Jovy) Pouliot and Janice McGuire, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson; Cobey.  

Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis J. Pouliot will be conducted at 11 am on Monday November 20, 2023 from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Peter Eke officiating. Interment will be in Denton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 19, 2023 from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home- Prudenville Chapel.
