Dewey Andrew Gibson

Dewey Andrew Gibson passed away at home with family by his side on Monday, March 10, 2025. He was 88.

Dewey was born on November 20, 1936 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to Alvis and Bulah (Reid) Gibson. He was married to Judith Ann Gibson on December 6, 1969 in Redford Township.  Dewey made his living as an owner and operator of Gibson upholstery for over 50 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, baseball, billiards, swimming and fishing.  He was a member of Leroy Covenant Church.

Dewey is survived his loving family, brother, Philip Gibson; sister, Wanda Gibson; children, Debra Thompson (Will), Michael Gibson, Brenda Hudson (Scott), Sherry Mahlstedt (Richard Goike), and Steven Gibson; grandchildren, Timothy Adams, Robert Naughton, Amber Aerson (Brett), Jon Adams, Angela Cupp (Mike), Justin Gibson (Danielle), Monica Belyk (Chris), Glen Wiggins, Stevie Gibson, and Brandon Gibson; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Gibson; sister-in-law, Dorthy Gibson; and daughter-in-law, Karolyn Gibson.

Memorial services will be held at LeRoy Covenant Church, 201 Cherry Street, LeRoy, Michigan 49655. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. until the time of services at noon on Saturday, April 5, 2025, with a luncheon at the church to follow.
