Marion - Donald "Don" Lee Cook Jr., longtime resident of Marion passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 2, 2025, due to complications of a long medical history. He was only 59.
Don was born on February 11, 1966, at Walter Reed hospital in Washington DC to Donald L. Cook and Diane A. DeSantos. He was raised by his mother and his stepfather, Elton M. Beebe downstate where he attended many years of school in Southfield, MI. Don eventually relocated with his family to northern Michigan. He spent nearly a decade or better working with MMI (Mid-Michigan Industries) in Clare. Don loved music and enjoyed hours of listening to his vinyl collection with such greats like, Ricky Skaggs, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and his favorite Elvis. He was no stranger to the microphone either, Don would often entertain with a song or be caught singing some of his favorite tunes or hymns he learned from church. He also would be found vacuuming very often and if he wasn't helping to vacuum Don would at least be asking "what kind of vacuum do you have?" In earlier years when his health and eyesight were better, Don spent hours enjoying photo albums or taking snapshots with his camera. He will be deeply missed by his loving and supportive family. And Don, you can have it as loud as you want now!
Donald is survived by his siblings, Rich (Shelly) Beebe of Marion, Kathy (Tom) Campbell of Tustin, and Vicki Harrigian of Marion; many nieces and nephews; as well as many other classmates, co-workers, friends, and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by parents and his step-father, Elton M. Beebe.
